ENVIRONMENTAL

The Eastern Shore is defined by its landscape: the Chesapeake Bay, the tidal wetlands, the forests and farmland that draw people here. Protecting that landscape while allowing communities to grow is one of the most important things we do. Our environmental scientists know this land, its regulations, and how to navigate both.

Site Assessment

Before you build, you need to know what you're working with. Our environmental professionals identify environmental constraints, regulatory requirements, and potential liabilities early so there are no surprises down the road.

  • Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Phase II Subsurface Investigations
  • Geotechnical Services
  • Wetlands Delineation & Permitting
  • Forest Conservation Plans
  • Septic Design and Construction Management
  • Buffer Management Plans
  • Hydrogeologic Studies
  • Environmental Testing and Sampling (landfills, soils, and water)
  • Well Installation and Monitoring
  • Environmental Consultation

Regulatory Permitting

Maryland's environmental permitting involves multiple agencies with overlapping jurisdiction: Army Corps, MDE, Critical Area Commission. We manage the entire process from initial application through final approval, speaking the language of each agency along the way.

  • Living Shoreline Design & Installation Management
  • Stream & Waterway Restoration
  • Environmental Monitoring for Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)
  • Dredge Material Management
  • Sediment & Erosion Control Measurements
  • Critical Area compliance
  • Chesapeake Bay Critical Area variances

Environmental Compliance Monitoring

Our qualified environmental team aids in property purchases with investigations and design of site specifics. We design and coordinate installation of a variety of septic systems including Best Available Technology for Nitrogen Removal (BAT) systems, conventional, sand mound, and innovative and alternative systems.

  • Independent monitoring services for Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) projects
  • Lead Service Line Inventory compliance in accordance with EPA regulations
