Transportation

Roadway, drainage, sidewalk, and trail design and inspection for state-funded, county, town, and private projects.

Transportation projects in the Chesapeake region are rarely just pavement. Flat grades, high groundwater, tidal flooding, and Maryland's environmental site design rules shape every roadway, sidewalk, and trail. RAUCH brings civil design, survey, environmental permitting, structural review, and construction inspection to these projects under one contract.

On the MDOT State Highway Administration's US 50 at MD 589 design-build safety improvements in Worcester County, our inspectors handled field and construction inspection of the stormwater features and prepared the as-built report to SHA design-build and Highway Drainage Manual standards. In Federalsburg we administered and inspected an SHA-funded Safe Routes to School sidewalk project from bidding through closeout.

We have also designed the Town of Easton's Rails to Trails extensions and pedestrian bridge, the St. Michaels Nature Trail, street networks and roundabouts for master-planned communities, and road elevation strategies for sea level rise in St. Michaels.
