RAUCH was contracted to solve a severe shoreline erosion problem for a property owner with exposure along the Tred Avon River. After land and hydrographic topographic surveys, our design evaluated several shoreline erosion mitigation options and Buffer Management Plans. The solution resulted in a 750 linear foot medium-energy living shoreline with a segmented breakwater sill and 10,779 sq. ft. of new jurisdictional tidal wetlands. An alternative analysis report successfully gained U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approval.
